Cut the thread.

Now, crochet around the perimeter. Make 3 even decreases at the waist, and crochet around again with burgundy yarn. 

Hat 

Striped

Approximately increase until the desired length up to 60 SC. Continue crocheting until the ears, make holes (I have 10 CH in the 11th row), and crochet for 4-5 more rows. 

Crochet the ear holes. For the cap, create braids like in the photo below.
