Eyes (Make 2) – Amigurumi Cat
With black yarn:
Make 8 hdc into a magic ring, sl st to join.
Turn to the wrong side of the pupil.
With the iris color: insert the hook in the 2nd hdc, crochet 4 sc increases (in 3rd to 6th hdc). Sl st into the 7th hdc to fasten off.
With white yarn: insert the hook in the 1st hdc and crochet 10 sl st in BLO. Fasten off in the 8th hdc and hide the yarn end.
You should now have a 12-stitch circular eye:
2 stitches in black
10 stitches in white
Add eye highlights.
Nose Embroidery
Count down 21 rows from the top of the head.
At row 22, mark the central 5 stitches (use pins to mark sides).
At row 24, mark 1 center stitch.
This forms a triangle for the nose.
Embroider vertically to block base color from showing through.
Then stitch horizontally across the 5 upper stitches.
Bring the needle down to the marked stitch in row 24, secure.
You can also embroider the mouth with the same thread.
Mouth Embroidery Steps (Refer to Diagram):
1 → down 5 rows
2 → out through 5 stitches away
3 → insert back 2 stitches
4 → out where you came from
5 → back to center
6 → right
7 → up
8 → left
9 → back to center
Secure and hide yarn.
Attaching Eyes
After finishing the nose, pin the eyes in place.
They should be 1 row above the nose.
If the nose is 5 stitches wide, eyes should be 7 stitches apart.
From the center of the face, move:
3 stitches to the side
3 rows up
Sew each eye in a 3×3 square area.
Facial Sculpting (Optional)
Follow the photo reference:
Insert the needle at points (1) → (2), (3) → (4), (5) → (6), and so on:
(7 → 8), (9 → 10), (11 → 12), repeat:
(9 → 10), (7 → 8), (5 → 6), (3 → 4),
Finish at (13 → 14), pull threads tight, tie off, and hide yarn ends.
Embroider Eyelashes and Eyebrows
Use black or brown yarn. Follow the photo reference.
