Advice.
I use the GAZZAL Baby Cotton Yarn for crocheting this toy.
You can use any other yarn, but then choose an appropriate size of a crochet hook.
Be sure your stitches are tight enough without any huge gaps.
If the gaps are there in a crochet fabric, just try a smaller size of a hook.
Materials.
1. Yarn GAZZAL Baby Cotton (60% Cotton 40% Acrylic)
1 skein = 50 g (1.76 oz) / 165 m (180 yd)
• No 3439 Red – 1 skein
• No 3417 Yellow – a small amount for beak
• No 3432 White – a small amount for eye
• No 3433 Black – a small amount for brows
• No 3437 Beige – a small amount for tumy
2. Crochet hook 2.0 mm
3. 0.5 mm half-beads
4. Stuffing material (hollowfiber or polyfil)
5. Scissors & needle (Short and Long)

SC – single crochet
ch – chain stitch
inc – increase (2 sc in the same stitch of the previous round)
dec – decrease (2 sc together)

PATTERN
Body.
1 round: 7 sc into MR
2 round: inc * 7 times = 14
3 round: (1 sc, inc) * 7 times = 21
4 round: 1 sc, inc, (2 sc, inc)* 6 times, 1 sc = 28
5 round: (3 sc, inc, 3 sc) * 4 times = 32
6 round: (15 sc, inc) * 2 times = 34
7 round: (8 sc, inc, 8 sc) * 2 times = 36
8 round: (5 sc, inc) * 6 times = 42
9 round: (3 sc, inc, 3 sc) * 6 times = 48

Stuff the body firmly.
Turn the work and insert the hook into the first stitch.
Count 16th sc to the right of the “strip”, insert the hook into it and make a slip stitch (Please, look at the pictures).
Crochet another 5 slip stitches through the both layers
(1 layer of the “strip” + 1 layer of the body).
Proceed to crocheting the leg.
1 round: 15 sc from the body, 5 sc from the strip’s side = 20
2 – 3 rounds: 20 sc (2 rounds)
4 round: (3 sc, dec) * 4 times = 16
5 round: (2 sc, dec) * 4 times = 12
6 round: (1 sc, dec) * 4 times = 8
Finally stuff the body and the leg.
Tighten the final gap with the help of the needle, inserting it under the front loop of every stitch.
Fix and hide the yarn tail.
Now join the working yarn to the first stitch of the second leg.
Work 15 sc from the body and 5 sc from the strip’s side (20).
Continue crocheting the second leg in the same way as we crocheted the first leg. Stuff the leg and tighten the gap.
Wings (make 2).
1 round: 6 sc into MR
2 round: inc * 6 times = 12
3 round: (3 sc, inc) * 3 times = 15
4-8 rounds: 15 sc (5 rounds)
9 round: (3 sc, dec) * 3 times = 12
10 – 14 rounds: 12 sc (5 rounds)
Flatten the detail and make 6 sc through the both layers to close.
Feet (make 2).
Toes (make 2).

Cut the yarn and fasten off.
Long toe (make 1)

Cut the yarn and fasten off.
Crochet 3 toes in accordance with the description above.
Having finished two toes (the first toe and the long toe), cut the yarn and fasten off.
Do not cut the yarn after the third toe, because later from the third toe we will begin to join the toes together and continue crocheting the foot.

Join the toes together in accordance with the scheme by making 1 sc into every stitch.

Then crochet along the long toe again:

Cut the yarn, leaving a 30 cm tail for sewing.
Eyebrows.
Ch 14. Starting in the 4th chain stitch from the hook: 2 sc, 2 hdc, 1 sc, inc, 1 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, ch 3, slip stitch into the last stitch of the foundation chain (that is, into the stitch where we have already crocheted the last dc of the detail).
Tail.
Ch 10. Starting in the 4th chain stitch from the hook: 3 dc, 3 hdc, 1 sc. Do not cut the yarn.

Assembly.
Sew the feet to the bird’s legs with the help of the tapestry needle and using the yarn tails left to sew the feet to the body.
Sew the wings to the body at the level of 18th round.
Sew the head feathers to the top of the head.
Sew the eyes to the face at the level of 10th round of the body.
Sew the tummy to the body at the level of 18th round. Sew the beak between the eyes and the tummy.
Sew the eyebrows and the tail to the body.
Glue the half-beads to the eyes.
