Note:

The toy is crocheted continuously in spiral rounds; using a stitch marker is optional.

Do not use slip stitches at the end of rounds.

Do not turn the work unless specified.

You can use any yarn, but remember that it will affect the size of the toy.

Stuff the toy with filling as you crochet, making sure it’s firm enough but not overly stuffed to avoid it becoming too stiff or showing the filling through.

Assembly:

Attach the head to the body using pins, aligning it with the reduced stitches for the abdomen.

Next, position the ears, arms, and legs with pins, and once satisfied with their placement, sew them onto the body. I used a thread fastening method.

Then, sew the tail, securing the thread and using the same thread to create a cinch for the abdomen.

Insert the needle through the center of the abdomen between rounds 17 and 18 and bring it back out through 2 sc, not pulling too tightly.

Muzzle Decoration:

Attach the muzzle using pins. Add some filling if needed. If you’re not embroidering the nose, attach it now. Sew the muzzle and embroider the nose.

Cut two small circles from white felt, slightly larger than the eyes. Attach the safety eyes to the felt, position them on the head, and if satisfied with the placement, glue them in place.

Embroider the eyebrows.

Making the Bow Tie:

Take a 6mm wide green satin ribbon. Measure it around the neck, cut, and glue together.

Cut another piece of ribbon, fold it into a bow, stitch it a few times, and tighten, securing the thread.

Take another small piece and wrap it around the center, glue it to the ribbon around the neck.

Making the Hat:

Crochet in green yarn.

1: 5 ch, sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 sc, in the last ch 3 sc, on the other side 2 sc, inc (10)

2: inc, 2 sc, 3 inc, 2 sc, 2 inc (16)

8: Work in the front loops: inc, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc, 2 sc (30)

9: 8 sc, (2 hdc, 2 dc), (2 tr, 2 dc), (2 hdc, 2 dc), 8 sc, (2 hdc, 2 dc), (2 tr, 2 dc), (2 hdc, 2 dc), sl st

Fasten off.

You can either glue or sew the hat to the head.

Congratulations! Your orange bear is ready!
