🧵 Edging the Top of the Tail:
Option 1:
Without breaking the yarn, continue working in front loops only – work 2 sc into each front loop around.
Option 2:
Break yarn. Find the front center of the tail. Work 47 sc in the front loops only. Ch 1, turn.
47 sc, ch 1, turn.
Skip 1 st, (2 sc, inc) x5, 14 sc, (inc, 2 sc) x5, dec, ch 1, turn.
Skip 1 st again, (3 sc, inc) x5, 12 sc, (inc, 3 sc) x5, dec.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Chain 17, start in 4th chain from hook:
1: 14 dc, ch 3, turn

Fasten off. Attach a different yarn to the side of the top:
ch 2, 3 hdc together in one top (cluster), ch 2
11 sl st across the bottom
ch 2, 3 hdc together, ch 2, sl st
🎀 Straps (Make 2) – Amigurumi Mermaid:
Chain 40, fasten off.
Attach to each side of the top.
Sew the middle of the top and decorate with beads if desired.


👑 Crown – Amigurumi Mermaid:
Make a chain of ch equal to the doll’s head circumference. For a 20 cm head: chain 60.
Join in a ring with a sl st.
1: Ch 3 at beginning, work 1 round of dc, join with sl st
2: Ch 2, 1 round of sc, sl st
Now we create 4–5 points of the crown:




Point (Pico) – Amigurumi Mermaid:
Ch 3
In next 3 sc: 3 dc, then pico (ch 3, sl st in first ch), then 3 dc
Sl st into the 3rd stitch from the base of the cluster to anchor the point
Repeat 4–5 times as desired
For the final point: after last 3 dc and pico, ch 3 before anchoring with sl st
