Materials Needed: 

Plush (or any yarn of your choice) in 4 different colors: for the back, belly, body, and cap. 

Stuffing – polyester fiberfill 

Safety eyes, trapezoid shape, size 18 (or 16) 

Crochet hook suitable for your yarn (I use size 4) 

Black embroidery thread 

White embroidery thread for eye highlights 

Pink embroidery thread for cheek blush 

Marker 

Glue 

Lighter 

Needle and thread for tightening 

Scissors 

Abbreviations: 

ch – chain 

sc – single crochet 

inc – increase 

dec – decrease 

sl st – slip stitch 

hdc – half double crochet 

dc – double crochet 

tr – treble crochet

PATTERN

Legs (Make 4, in the color of the turtle’s body): 

Row 1: 6 sc into magic ring (6) 

Row 2: 6 inc (12) 

Row 3: (1 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (18) 

Row 4-6: 18 sc 

Row 7: (2 sc, dec) repeat 5 times, last dec is in the next row (13) 

Row 8: (3 sc, dec) repeat 3 times (10) 

Row 9-10: 10 sc 

Stuff the leg halfway. Crochet 5 sc across both sides, then fasten off, leaving a tail of 7-8 cm. 

Tail (In the color of the turtle’s body): 

Chain 7. 

Starting from the 2nd chain from the hook, crochet 6 sc. 

Fasten off, leaving a tail of 7-8 cm. 

Head (In the color of the turtle’s body): 

Row 1: 6 sc into magic ring (6) 

Row 2: 6 inc (12) 

Row 3: (1 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (18) 

Row 4: (2 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (24) 

Row 5: (3 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (30) 

Rows 6-9: 30 sc 

Row 10: (3 sc, dec) repeat 6 times (24) 

Row 11: (2 sc, dec) repeat 6 times (18) 

Insert safety eyes between Rows 7 and 8. 

Row 12: (1 sc, dec) repeat 6 times (12) 

Stuff the head with fiberfill. Continue crocheting 6 more rows of 12 sc each. 

Body (In pink color, or your preferred color): 

Row 1: 6 sc into magic ring (6) 

Row 2: 6 inc (12) 

Row 3: 12 inc (24) 

Row 4: (1 sc, inc) repeat 12 times (36) 

Row 5: 36 sc 

Row 6 (Change to the color of the body): 36 sc
