PATTERN

HEAD

Start with the main (brown) color.

Make a chain of stitches: 25 ch.

Begin crocheting the first row from the second chain from the hook. Crochet in a spiral (in the first row, crochet on one side of the chain of ch, then switch to the other side).

Row 1: 1 inc, 22 sc, 2 inc (in the last ch of the chain), 22 sc, 1 inc (52)

Row 2: 2 inc, 22 sc, 4 inc, 22 sc, 2 inc (60)

Row 3: 3 inc, 25 sc, 5 inc, 25 sc, 2 inc (70)

Rows 4-6: 70 sc

Row 7: 4 sc, dec, 24 sc, dec, 7 sc, dec, 24 sc, dec, 3 sc (66)

Row 8: 66 sc

Row 9: 4 sc, dec, 22 sc, dec, 7 sc, dec, 22 sc, dec, 3 sc (62)

Row 10: 62 sc

Row 11: 4 sc, dec, 20 sc, dec, 7 sc, dec, 20 sc, dec, 3 sc (58)

Row 12: 58 sc

Row 14: 54 sc

Row 15: 4 sc, dec, 16 sc, dec, 7 sc, dec, 16 sc, dec, 3 sc (50)

Row 16: dec, 23 sc, dec, 23 sc (48)

Row 17: (6 sc, dec)*6 (42)

Rows 18-19: 42 sc

Row 20: (5 sc, dec)*6 (36)

Rows 21-22: 36 sc

Row 23: (4 sc, dec)*6 (30)

Row 24: 30 sc

Row 25: (3 sc, dec)*6 (24)

Insert safety eyes between rows 16 and 17. The distance between the eyes is 8 sc. Stuff the head firmly, shaping it into a triangle.

Start crocheting the hair. Change the yarn color. Crochet the hair alternating regular rows with rows of extended loops. The length of the extended loops determines the length of the toy’s hair.

Row 26: 24 sc (extended loops)

Row 27: (2 sc, dec)*6 (18)

Row 28: 18 sc (extended loops)

Row 29: (1 sc, dec)*6 (12)

Row 30: 12 sc (extended loops)

Add stuffing.

Row 31: 6 dec (6)

Finish with 1 ss + 1 ch. Pull the yarn through and cut, leaving a long end.

Thread the end of the yarn into a needle with a large eye, and, catching only the front loops, tighten the remaining 6 sc. Secure the yarn. Insert the needle at the top of the head and pull it out on the opposite side of the head (in the area of the future neck). Slightly pull the head. Secure the yarn and cut the remaining end.

MUZZLE

Crochet with beige color.

Make a chain of stitches: 15 ch.

Begin crocheting the first row from the second chain from the hook. Crochet in a spiral (in the first row, crochet on one side of the chain of ch, then switch to the other side).

Row 1: 1 inc, 12 sc, 2 inc (in the last ch of the chain), 12 sc, 1 inc (32)

Row 2: 2 inc, 12 sc, 4 inc, 12 sc, 2 inc (40)

Row 3: 3 inc, 15 sc, 5 inc, 15 sc, 2 inc (50)

Row 4: 50 sc.

Finish with 1 ss + 1 ch. Pull the yarn through and cut, leaving a long end for sewing.

ASSEMBLY

Position the muzzle under the eyes. Sew it to the head using the yarn left after crocheting. For convenience, pin the muzzle with pins beforehand.

EARS (2 pieces)

Start crocheting the ear with beige color according to the scheme below:

Row 1: 6 sc in MR

Row 2: 6 inc (12)

Row 3: (1 sc, inc)*6 (18)

Row 4: (2 sc, inc)*6 (24)

Finish crocheting with 1 ss + 1 ch. Pull the yarn through and cut. Set aside the piece.

Start crocheting with brown color according to the scheme below:

Row 1: 6 sc in MR

Row 2: 6 inc (12)

Row 3: (1 sc, inc)*6 (18)

Row 4: (2 sc, inc)*6 (24)

Do not cut the yarn, continue crocheting.

Place the beige circle on the freshly crocheted brown one (wrong sides together) and join them as indicated in row 5. Hide the end of the beige circle inside the piece.

Row 5: 24 sc, through both loops, of both pieces

Row 6: (3 sc, inc)*6 (30)

Finish with 1 ss + 1 ch. Pull the yarn through and cut, leaving a long end for sewing to the head.

ASSEMBLY

Attach the ears symmetrically to the head, on the sides.

DECORATION

Embroider the nose with brown yarn, in the middle, between rows 2 and 3 below the eyes. The nose length is 6 sc.

Embroider the mouth and eyebrows. There are no specific recommendations here, only your imagination, as each monkey has its own smile and eyebrows.

ARMS (2 pieces)

Crochet with the main (brown) color.

Row 1: 9 sc in MR

Rows 2-28: 9 sc

Finish with 1 ss + 1 ch. Pull the yarn through and cut, leaving a long end. Do not stuff the piece. Fold and join both halves of the crochet using a yarn needle. Use a “whip stitch” for this.

LEGS (2 pieces)

Crochet with the main (brown) color.

Row 1: 6 sc in MR

Row 2: 6 inc (12)

Row 3: (3 sc, inc)*3 (15)

Rows 4-7: 15 sc

Row 8: (4 sc, inc)*3 (18)

Rows 9-12: 18 sc

Row 13: (2 sc, inc)*6 (24)

When crocheting the first leg – finish with 1 ss + 1 ch. Pull the yarn through and cut, hiding the end inside the piece.

When crocheting the second leg – do not cut the yarn, continue crocheting the body. Crochet 1 ch (the distance between the legs).

BODY

Attach the second leg to the first with a ss. Continue crocheting in a spiral with the main (brown) color.

Row 1: 50 sc (24 sc along one leg + 1 sc in the ch + 24 sc along the second leg + 1 sc in the ch)

Rows 2-8: 50 sc

Row 9: (8 sc, dec)*5 (45)

Rows 10-11: 45 sc

Row 12: (7 sc, dec)*5 (40)

Rows 13-15: 40 sc

Row 16: (6 sc, dec)*5 (35)

Rows 17-22: 35 sc

Stuff the legs firmly with filling, then continue stuffing as you crochet.

Row 23: (5 sc, dec)*5 (30)

Rows 24-26: 30 sc

Row 27: (4 sc, dec)*5 (25)

Rows 28-30: 25 sc

Row 31: (3 sc, dec)*5 (20)

Rows 32-34: 20 sc

Finish with 1 ss + 1 ch. Pull the yarn through and cut, leaving a long end for sewing the body to the head.

ASSEMBLY

Sew the head to the body using the yarn left from crocheting, in the middle of the head. Secure the pieces together to hide the threads after tightening the head. Add stuffing to the neck, compacting it well. This is necessary to avoid folds and a “loose head” effect. Symmetrically, attach and sew the arms to the body, between rows 3 and 4 from the top. Optionally, embroider the belly button with beige yarn using a cross stitch.

TAIL

Prepare 3 strands of the main (brown) color, each 30 cm long. Fold each strand in half and attach it to the middle of the back between rows 5 and 6 of the body. Braid the strands, leaving a “tassel” at the end of the tail. Tie the tail with brown yarn to prevent the braid from unraveling and trim all strands to the same length.

BIKINI (top)

Crochet two triangles according to the pattern below, using any bright color.

Row 1: 6 sc in MR

Row 2: 6 inc (12)

Row 3: (3 sc, inc)*3 (15)

Row 4: (3 sc, 2 inc)*3 (21)

Finish with 1 ss + 1 ch. Pull the yarn through and cut.

Begin joining the triangles to form the bikini top. Crochet 20 ch + 7 sc (along one side of the first triangle) + 7 sc (along one side of the second triangle) + 20 ch. Tie the top at the back of Yana the monkey using the chains.

BIKINI (bottom)

Crochet two triangles according to the pattern below, using any bright color.

Row 1: 6 sc in MR

Row 2: 6 inc (12)

Row 3: (3 sc, inc)*3 (15)

Row 4: (3 sc, 2 inc)*3 (21)

Row 5: (4 sc, 3 inc)*3 (30)

Row 6: 6 sc, 3 inc, (7 sc, 3 inc)*2, 1 sc (39)

Finish with 1 ss + 1 ch. Pull the yarn through and cut.

Begin joining the triangles to form the bikini bottom. Crochet 20 ch + 13 sc (along one side of the first triangle) + 2 ch + 13 sc (along one side of the second triangle) + 20 ch. Repeat the same steps to connect the pieces on the other side, and crochet a second tie-string, replacing 2 ch with 2 sc along the already crocheted chain between the triangles. Tie the bottom on Yana the monkey using the chains. Pull the tail out through the middle of the bottoms (through the MR).
